While not specifically an autism or disability-related event, it is certainly a community event for those living near Clear Lake City Boulevard. I myself would like to see a multipurpose recreational center go into that space, for our community has nothing like that currently. –Emily

Council Member Dave Martin to host Sylvan Rodriguez Park Planning Meeting

Houston, TX – Houston City Council Member Dave Martin, the General Service Department and Houston Parks and Recreation Department will host a planning meeting for Sylvan Rodriguez Park on September 22, 2016, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., University of Houston – Clear Lake, Bayou Building, Garden Room, 2700 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058.

A long range master plan was developed for the park in 2008.  As communities grow and change the need to revisit the plan and gain community input and support for park improvements is needed.

The last major park improvement was dedicated in 2013 and included a 155 car concrete parking lot with parking lot lights, new electric service and new sports field lighting on the existing fields, construction of a new multi-purpose field west of the two existing lacrosse fields, paved sidewalk connections between the parking lot and fields, planting and irrigation and detention.
