The Giving Tree Project has been delayed. Mainly because I have to form a 501(c) 3, and I can’t to that without a Board, and so far I haven’t met too many parents of autistic kids who have the ability or the desire to get involved in a fledgling organization which is not promising to solve their immediate needs. Parents of autistic kids are so busy being moms and advocating for their own kids that they have little left over for another organization. So the project of creating a virtual giving tree for autistic adults in residential facilities will have to wait.
If anyone reading this wants to help me make this happen for 2018, please email me and we’ll see what we can create this together.
The concept is a virtual Christmas tree where people in residential communities can request small items and have their requests fulfilled though crowd sourcing /funding.
