Sponsored by CCISD’s Office of Special Education Services, the Transition and Community Connections Expo (TACCE) event is for families of children of any age and disability.

Now is the time to make community connections and prepare for life after high school!!

There will be breakout sessions every half hour at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, & 7:30 p.m.

Breakout Session Topics:

  • Parenting for Safe and Drug Free Youth
  • Quick Tips for Dealing with Behavior
  • Lost in Translation – Tools to Help Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders Operate Effectively at Home and in the Community
  • Toilet Training:Tips and Strategies to Help Your Preschooler

There will be a variety of agency and community representatives available at information tables to visit with you throughout the evening such as: San Jacinto College Office of Disability Services, Employment services for individuals with a disability (DARS and VGS), Houston plumber’s apprenticeships, local behavior supports for autism and developmental delay (ABA), respite services, day habilitation programming for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities, guardianship and special needs trusts services, local advocacy and education for parents of children with disabilities, MHMRA services, HCC VAST program for individuals with disabilities, & Alvin Community College STRIVE program for individuals with disabilities
