Join with parents, teachers and administrators dedicated to helping our students at the first general meeting of the new district wide CCISD Special Education PTA!

Our speaker is Dr. Elizabeth Swanson, a Research Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, with 20 years of experience. Understanding the research base places parents, teachers, and school leaders in a position to prepare all students with disabilities for post-graduate opportunities in careers and college. Dr. Swanson will share the extensive research base in reading and literacy for K-12 students. She will offer suggestions for parents.

More About Our Speaker: Dr. Elizabeth Swanson started her career 20 years ago as a resource room teacher to 36 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. She is currently a Research Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Special Education and focuses on designing and testing for efficacy reading interventions for students in grades K-12. She is passionate about providing every child with special needs a high quality education that results in the adult outcomes that we all hope and dream about. Questions? Email info@septa-ccisd.org .
